One of the oldest fragrance houses in the world, the Floris name is synonymous with desirable, superior products where craftsmanship and quality is paramount. Arriving in London in 1730 from Menorca, Juan Famenias Floris began trading at No89 Jermyn Street, in the elegant quarter of St James's. Using skills learnt in Montpellier, Juan Floris began blending individual fragrances for the fashionable society of London. Since opening in 1730, Floris has provided fragrance, fine toiletries and accessories to an incredibly loyal customer base. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Floris ledgers

of this period detail accounts held by an incredible array of public figures, including practically every European Royal. Famous customers over many years include Florence Nightingale, Mary Shelley, Beau Brummel and even Ian Fleming's ficitional character James Bond wore Floris. The entire Floris operation was run from the No89 Jermyn Street premises: products were hand-crafted in the basement, then beautifully packaged by hand before being brought upstairs to the shop shelves. Today, Floris is still privately owned and operated by descendants of its founder. Expertise accumulated over years has resulted in luxurious scented candles that last, burning slowly and evenly. The wicks are made of pure braided cotton. Still individually hand poured today, all of the candles and room fragrances are richly scented using only the finest quality ingredients.
